Although, we have the largest selection of American watch parts in the world there are factors which you must consider. Most watches are old and have been worked on before. This means that parts and adjustment to the watch have been made. While our parts are from each factory that does not mean that the parts will fit 100%. Each factory had there own method of assembling watches therefore, some parts will take modification.

Speaking with watchmakers who have practiced for 40-50 years most say a factory part has a 90% chance of being a perfect fit and the rest must be modified. We will supply the factory part but, in some cases it is up to you to make the finial fit to your specific watch. In fact, one watchmaker told be that with staffs he must fit about 95% and the jewels have been changed or do not match being two different hole sizes to the pivot size. The staff must then be turned to adjust for the differences.

The bottom line is all most 100% of watches have been worked on and the watchmaker for what ever reason either did not have the right part or modified one to fit. This is the challenge you face when working with watches which date back to the mid 1850's.
